01 / EXECUTIVE OVERVIEW

Problem Context & System Scope

WareTwin is a production-grade 3D digital twin built to mirror a full-scale 300-meter autonomous drone airbase facility.

The system renders a real-time interactive digital campus inside the browser at a steady 60 FPS without external plugin requirements, handling hundreds of concurrent telemetry streams, robotic arms, and aircraft trajectories.

It integrates deterministic multi-agent A* routing for automated ground transport, a multi-zone hangar with 160 bays, and synchronized flight operations across active runways.

02 / SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE

Technical Breakdown & Pipeline Engineering

Spatial Campus Model & WebGL Scene Graph

Hierarchical 3D rendering pipeline built on Three.js and React Three Fiber.

  • Modular chunking of 300m terrain, structures, and lighting to maintain 60 FPS on standard consumer GPUs.
  • Dynamic Level of Detail (LOD) management for structural components, hangars, and flight runways.
  • Custom shaders for runway approach lighting and atmospheric scattering.

Robotic Manufacturing Simulation Pipeline

Deterministic 6-stage autonomous manufacturing workflow simulation.

  • Simulates carbon-fiber frame molding, avionics integration, robotic welding, optical calibration, and acoustic testing.
  • Forward kinematics for robotic assembly arms with precision target reach.
  • Dynamic defect injection and manufacturing telemetry logging.

Telemetry & Multi-Agent Routing Engine

Real-time state synchronization and conflict-free path generation.

  • Decoupled state management using Zustand for zero-overhead component reactivity.
  • Deterministic 2D/3D grid A* routing preventing collision across mobile automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
  • PX4 / MAVLink telemetry parser translating simulated flight vectors into realistic pitch, yaw, and roll kinematics.
03 / KEY CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

Engineering Hardships & Resolution

Challenge:
Maintaining a smooth 60 FPS in WebGL while rendering hundreds of animated components and real-time telemetry updates.
Engineering Solution:

Implemented strict geometry instancing, frustum culling, and decoupled telemetry state ticks from the render loop via requestAnimationFrame memoization.

Challenge:
Preventing spatial collisions among autonomous ground vehicles operating inside dense factory floor corridors.
Engineering Solution:

Designed a time-expanded A* reservation grid that reserves future space-time cells, ensuring deadlock-free multi-agent routing.

04 / IMPACT & VALIDATION

Quantitative Results & Impact

  • Deployed into live interactive production accessible worldwide on Vercel.
